Do Not Neglect or Disregard, But Enjoy the Little Things!
“O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!” (1 Chronicles 16:34).
Do Not Neglect or Disregard, But Enjoy The Little Things!
We are back once again! Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening or whatever time frame that you are in. Welcome! I thank God for you and for your faithfulness. I continue to pray that our times together are not being wasted. I always want in every moment that we have together, to give you something that we both can grow with. When you read what I give you each week, I pray that it is something that can be so useful for us in our everyday walk. Neither of our times will be wasted. When we finish reading these encouragements, we can walk away from our phones feeling refreshed by the anointing of His Holy Word.
This is why I need your prayers always! That way, we can be in tune with the things of our Heavenly Kingdom. The Holy Spirit can stir inside of both of us when we start to read and meditate on what we have each week. You can walk away being filled to the brim of your soul with the joy of the Lord, and feeling refreshed. So let us begin!
You see, all it takes to begin to enjoy life to the fullest, is a decision. A decision that you make according to purpose. That decision can affect everything that you do, even affecting overlooked areas in our lives. Just for example, you can decide to enjoy not only your work and your accomplishments, but even the commute to work in the morning or wherever you might be traveling to right now.
What you can do is not get so frustrated about the traffic on I-5 or whichever other major highway you might be traveling on right now. Sometimes, when you have your mind on what you need to do when you arrive, you fail to enjoy the trip. I have learned in my own life that I can be grateful - even in traffic. Grateful that I have a truck, grateful that the truck is running properly, grateful that I have a job, and so grateful that I have a few extra minutes to spend time with God or be in tune with heaven while stuck in traffic.
This morning, my friends, I encourage you to enjoy the little things in life today, tomorrow, and the next day. You should always enjoy your home, your friends, and yes, especially these days of busyness around the Christmas times. Enjoy your children, grandchildren, and yes, even the commutes to work, or flying home on the holidays. Just remember: all it takes is a decision.
So, let’s talk about what our aim is for the end of the year and what direction we are going to try to focus our lives as we are heading to the start of the next year. My prayer in writing to you, my brothers and sisters, is to get your thoughts focusing in for what you can do to better your walk with Christ through the end of this year and have vision to know what is needed to stay the course through the beginning of 2019. Let’s purpose to come out of this year and into the new one, strong soldiers of the cross.
I believe the key to fulfilling your life purpose is your vision. Within each and every one of us, God has placed that vision which is designed to give us purpose and meaning for our lives. You can either stay the course of the vision or stay dormant for a period of many wasted years.
Did you know that God has and always will have an exciting purpose, plan, and vision for every one of His children? The question is, have you found yours yet? That is why vision is the source and hope of life, and one of the greatest gifts ever given to mankind. Moreover, it is not the gift of sight that is most important. It is the gift of having a vision. Sight is the function of the eyes, but vision is the function of your heart!
Eyes that look are so common, but the eyes that see life’s journey, are so rare. Just think about that for a moment. Most well-known men in history have never done anything without vision. You know that vision is the key to unlocking the gates of what was and what is, and also propelling us into the land of what could be and has not yet been.
Moreover, vision sets you free from the limitations of what the eyes can see and allows you to enter into the liberty of what the heart can feel. Please hear what I am saying going to the end of this year. Your vision will set you free from the limitations of what your eyes can see and allows you to enter into the liberty of what your heart’s goal can feel looking towards next year.
Your vision will make the unseen visible and the unknown possible. Likewise, it is your vision that will also make suffering and disappointment bearable. So you wonder sometimes why did certain things happen. Well, you can answer that straight with yourself. Was it because of your decisions? Or was it because of your lack of vision? We will continue this with some tools that we can use to identify more of what tomorrow will bring, and how we can get ready for that unknown.
Let me tell you this truth: it is your vision that generates hope in the midst of despair and provides endurance in your tribulation. Also, vision inspires the depressed and motivates the discouraged. Without vision, life would be a study of going in cyclic frustration and a whirlwind of despair. Vision is the foundation of your courage and the fuel of persistence.
So let me give you an example of how most people live. Have you ever seen a little child on a rocking horse, going back and forth? The child may end up doing the same thing for about, well, maybe 20 minutes to an hour. They’ll sweat and enjoy the horseback ride. I believe that is how most people live. They are working very hard and sweating hard, but they are making no real progress in life. Why? Because they are not going anywhere.
Have you ever seen some people like that? Every day is a routine. The same with our world. It is filled with people who are busy but not ultimately effective or satisfied. They are making no real progress in life, and going nowhere. They are trying to go where no man has gone before, Star Trek style, but still sitting still in a set up at Universal Studios. So consequently, they spend their lives toiling away but never making any headway. Have you ever asked some people, “Sir, Ma’am, do you know why you exist?” 99% of them cannot tell you how to answer that question. They can’t explain their purpose.
Let me tell you this - you are born to be distinct! Did you know that you will never be satisfied living until you know why you were born and what to do? Please, again, you were not created to be normal. You were designed by God not to blend in, but to stand out. Just think about the thousand kinds of trees or flowers in this world. Yes, they are all flowers or trees, but each one is unique in its species. Just look there in the Northwest, and all the forest they have. When you just glance, the tress all seem to blend together. But wait until you get close. You will see that the shape of each tree is unique. Every type of tree has leaves with a distinct design. Why is that? They are unique. So, uniqueness is part of God’s creation. That is the same with all of us living in this world. Individual design is as true of humanity as it is of nature.
Some people may consider you to be just another human person, but they are 100% wrong. That is why you never allow anyone to cause you to think of yourself as just ordinary. As I said before, if anyone makes you feel that you are less than who you really are, go to a mirror and look at it. Talk to that mirror. You are an original you! Of course you are one of a kind, irreplaceable, and original. You can also tell yourself that there is no one like you on this whole earth.
It is God who made you that way, because He wanted you to be perpetually rare. One of a kind! Yes, it is God who has given you a unique vision. Let me close with this. You are not a mass-produced piece of clothing. God has not placed you on a sales rack. You are Designer-made. You should rehearse and say every day for the rest of this year, “I am born to be known for something!”
Write down what you are going to accomplish coming next year. Every day say to yourself, “I was created to accomplish this, in 2019.” So what has God wired you to do for next year? You should do some things out of the ordinary. Things you will be remembered for. I think I gave you enough for this week, but remember - the best is yet to come. Go with God’s blessings this week. I am looking forward to talking to you next week. God Speed! And be an original!
My prayer for you: Heavenly Father, I have talked with your people about stirring up their vision and making it known. I am so grateful for the little things and the overlooked things in my life. Today, help us to have hearts of thanksgiving that choose to see You and Your blessings in every situation. We thank You for what you are going to do in our lives, and we look forward to understanding more of your vision for us. Let Your love be with us as we go through this week. Let us not be satisfied with what we already have, but we will always look to You for our purpose. In the years that we have left, be with us and let Your grace reveal the deeper side of our vision. That in small and little things we can be able to see the big picture of what our tomorrow will be. Bless Your people today and show them the desire of their hearts. Let them know that You are a faithful God, the God that can show the past to the future and the present to the future. Our blessings will come only from You, our Lord. Forgive us from our sins. I pray that You bless each and every one of us. Bless Your people at work or wherever they may be. Let Your rest be their rest and Your peace be their peace. In their weakness, show how You are completed in their suffering. We love You, Lord our God. In Jesus’ wonderful name. AMEN!
Thought: He is More Than Enough! Shalom!
