Did You Know that You Were Created to be Deployed?
Did You Know That You Were Created To Be Deployed?
“Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave---just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” (Mathew 20:25-28).
Good Morning as we begin our talking today with where we left off last week! I am looking forward to knowing more of His love toward us through His Word. I welcome you as we begin today.
Time is flying right on! I can’t believe that we are in February already. Let us continue praying for one another and lifting each other up in prayer always. We all need each other in the body of Christ. We must continue to talk about what God has given us and encourage one another in His Word! Praise God for you and you and you, as you take the time to read and reflect on our daily devotion.
Did you know that you were created to serve the world with Kingdom compassion and Kingdom energy? Now if people are always asking you for help, you must be reflecting the character of your King! If you shoulder your share of the world without murmuring or complaining, then you have probably already been deployed in the service of the King. You might ask, “So what does that mean?” It means that God’s Kingdom designates every single citizen as a king in his or her own right.
How does that work?
Well, you work your way up the Kingdom management ladder by working your way down in lowly service. Did you know that you are a king who serves the world with your God-given gifts? Even knowing that, you do not have to serve God long before you are tempted to think your work is in vain. Thoughts come that your service is a waste of time. Results are hard to find.
Regardless of what you think and see, God promises that your work is never in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). That doesn’t mean that you’ll always see the fruit of your labors you had hoped for, or that you won’t frequently feel that nothing has come of all your efforts. It does mean that even if you can’t see proof, your service to God is never in vain.
I am going to continue talking about our vision and how we can really dream and live our life with rest! You see, vision is foresight with insight, based on hindsight! The first step to fulfilling your reason for existence is realizing that you have been given a vision. The question then becomes, how exactly do you receive, recognize, and activate your vision?
When you really understand the Source of vision, you will learn the secrets to its origin and workings in your life. This is the knowledge that will help you take your dream from the initial idea, all the way to its fulfillment.
To break it down even further, the first key to understanding vision is to realize that it always emanates from purpose. Why is that? It is because God is the Author of vision, and it is His nature to be purposeful in everything He does. Every time He appeared on the scene in human history, it was because He wanted something specific accomplished and was actively working it out through people’s lives.
Therefore, God is a God of action, based on purpose. Even His purposes are eternal. Listen to what the Psalmist says in Psalm 33:11: “The plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations,” and again we see in Isaiah 14:24: “The Lord Almighty has sworn, ‘Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, as I have purposed, so it will stand.’” To put it in plain words, there is nothing that can get in the way of God’s purposes; they always come to pass. Wow! Therefore, God created you with a purpose. Don’t ever let men tell you otherwise. Do not believe them. His promises are yes and amen.
The second thing that we need to discuss is that we must understand that God created everything to fulfill a purpose in life. So, whether we are talking about the animals, plants, stars, or people, everything and everyone was created to fulfill a purpose - including you who I am talking to this morning. Hello! Are you hearing me? Yes, I am talking to you. I know in my life that God created me for a purpose, and that He will bring that purpose to pass. And of course, I believe with all my heart without any doubt, that I am not a mistake. I do know that my life is significant.
With my life, I believe that God created me to do something, and no one else can do it for me. Now here is the question for you: Do you believe that for yourself? Do you know that your life has a purpose? I know what so and so said. Stop it! Do you believe that your life has a purpose? If you do, then stop believing all the other fairy tales that people have gossiped about. Your life is important.
My encouragement to you today is that I hope you will become more and more confident of this truth as you continue reading what is being provided for us each week in these devotionals. You have to know that you know that you know that you are somebody that God has assigned, wherever you are, to do something for the Kingdom.
Now let’s look at the book of Ecclesiastes. Here, we read about the revelation of God’s purposes to the hearts of human kind. You know this Scripture! The third chapter begins by saying, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under the heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
We know that according to the Scripture we just read, that it is God Who not only has given you and me a purpose, but He has also determined the time for that purpose to be accomplished. There is a time for every purpose. Moreover, whatever you were born to do, God has assigned a season in which it is to be done. That season is the duration of your life. So, listen up - you do not have all eternity to do it. Get off your bed and start doing what you are supposed to be doing through vision and purpose.
You see how and why it is crucial for you to know the vision that is in your heart? Your purpose can be fulfilled only during the time you are given on earth to accomplish it. My friends, today within this season called life, God has also appointed specific times for portions of your purpose to be accomplished. As you pursue the dream that God has given you, He will bring it to fruition during the period of your life when it is meant to be completed.
Stop living in what I call “wishful thinking”. Wishful thinking creates thoughts like, “Oh, I wish I would have done this or done that.” I love what Ecclesiastes 3:11 says: “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
Some people wish they had been born during a different time in history. Let me tell you this. If you were to be born a thousand years ago, or maybe a hundred years ago, I know you would be miserable, because you would have been living in the wrong time to complete your purpose and vision. You would probably be riding on a horse back or even a donkey, and never get to drive a BMW or a Dodge Ram truck!
Hear me this morning. It is God Who chose when and where you were born, and for a good reason. So know this - you didn’t just show up on earth. Listen again to Ecclesiastes 3:2, which says that there is a “time to be born.” Remember for the rest of your life, that you were born at the right time to accomplish your vision during your generation. You were given a sense of purpose, for this time.
In closing, Ecclesiastes 3:10 says, “I have seen the burden God has laid on men.” In Hebrew, the word “burden” could actually be translated as “a heavy responsibility, occupation, or a task.” It could also be described as a “responsible urge.” So every human being comes to earth with a purpose that, in a sense, weighs on him.
Listen. Whether you are fifteen years old, forty, or even older, there is a burden within you, a “responsible urge” to carry out all that you were designed to do. It is a cry of the heart, but really it is a cry of purpose that says, “Oh yes, I was born to do something that I must fulfill.”
That is all for this week. Go with God this week and enjoy life. Fall in love with Jesus like you did when you first received salvation and accepted Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life.
Peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, my friends. Until next time, my heart will keep on singing.
Prayer: Lord God Almighty, the God of the Universe. I want to thank You for all of Your blessings. Thank You for Your Word, because it keeps reminding me of how I am supposed to live according to Your purpose. Sometimes, I fall short in doing what I am destined to do, because of being so lazy. Then, things keep on being put off to the point that I lose sight of the vision You gave me. At times, I even lose focus on what is more important in my own life. Purpose ends up being left outside on my doorstep, and I lose sight of my first love. But it is very clear that I do not have all eternity here on earth. I will continue to be in communion with the Comforter here on earth to help me know the reason I was born, and to fulfill Your purpose and vision for my life. I know that from now on, as Your Word reminded me today, that You have made everything beautiful in its time. Because of that, I can go through each day and know that my time that is left here will be more productive and effective. I pray for Your help, the Holy Spirit, to be my Friend all the way through to the end of my journey on this earth. Hold hands with me in the cool of the day as You teach me Your ways. Forgive me for my sins and for neglecting to be intertwined with Your Spirit. I know that my purpose will come to pass, and I want to see Your glory in the midst of all of these things. My story will be the best ever, and my ending will be greater than my beginning! I love You, Lord, my Daddy!
My prayer for you: Now Father, be with Your people this week as we look to You for the changes in our lives. Let Your favor be with us always. Heal our sicknesses and fill our hearts with joy, everlasting joy! In Jesus’ wonderful name, amen and amen.
Thought: You were given a purpose to fulfill!
